We’ve heard of people heading off on a treasure hunt before, but recently, some of our guests at the Abbey Town House have introduced us to a whole new type of treasure hunt.
Apparently, this season’s search is for wisteria, a beautiful lilac coloured climbing plant that can be admired cascading down cottage facades throughout the Cotswolds. Characterful twisted branches offer support to draping clusters of delicate flowers in shades of lilac, blue, pink and purple. They are in full bloom in late spring and into the early summer months so now is the perfect time to spot these beautiful blooms.
