With bulbs in bloom and the first sightings of newborn lambs, we feel it’s safe to say that spring is definitely on its way.
We’ve rounded up a few of our favourite things to do in Cheltenham now that the days are getting longer and temperatures are finally starting to rise!
Lambing at Cotswold Farm Park
One of the largest lambing events in the country with over 800 lambs due to be born on the farm, a visit to Adam Henson’s farm is an absolute must this spring.
A wonderful day out for animal lovers of all ages, the lambing event is included in all entry tickets and you’ll be able to see live births as well as hear talks from the experts and have lots of hands on experiences.
A Trip to the Races
The Cheltenham Festival takes place this year from 14th-17th March and reaches its peak on Gold Cup Day with everyone hoping to back a winner.
This is the pinnacle event of the jump-racing calendar with 28 races over 4 days and sees the town of Cheltenham alive with festival fever as thousands of avid race goers descend on the Cotswolds.
Holst Victorian House
For a trip back in time, we love exploring the birthplace of composer Gustav Holst. In Holst Victorian House you can explore the lives of some of the inhabitants, including Holst’s parents, both in Victorian and more modern times.
The house is a fascinating time capsule of 19th century life with a working Victorian kitchen, Victorian bedroom, scullery and nursery. Composer Gustav Holst’s life and times can be discovered in his Music Room, complete with the piano on which he composed The Planets.
